Understanding how money is created and how it is introduced into our economy is key to fighting the lie - that the NHS ( and ALL Public Services) is unsustainable and we can't afford it.

Good government should be investing in public services not destroying them.

Fighting to Save our NHS from profiteers

CHANG AUSTERITY 2

We are convinced that one major key to solving our NHS Crisis is understanding how the neoliberal philosophy of Austerity with its very simplistic messages of

NOT ENOUGH MONEY, TIGHTEN OUR BELTS, TAX BEFORE YOU SPEND

has wrecked this country and many others around the world.

What's worse it's wrecked lives and is now endangering lives.

Shrinking public services by outsourcing them to private companies

- Austerity is literally killing people.

Thankfully there are economists now, united around the globe, who are finding their voice to question the Austerity regime that stems from the USA Corporate sector. The creation of money, how an economy works... these are the things we need to get our heads round.

Once you do it's easy to see we can afford a publicly run NHS.

SIMPLE MESSAGES

We've got a simple message for

all MPs and local councils

BRING THE NHS

BACK INTO PUBLIC MANAGEMENT

REMOVE THE COMMERICAL MARKET

THAT IS DESTROYING IT

WE CAN AFFORD IT

WE WANT IT

RENATIONALISED

TOGETHER WITH SOCIAL CARE

NO MORE AUSTERITY

NEW ECONOMIC THINKING

One UK economist who has a shared interest in the NHS is Richard Murphy.

As he said in a recent blog:

"there is no reason why we should not have health care in thirty years time...  All we have to do is decide we want it.

Then we can pay for it. It will not be a matter of not affording it. It’s just a matter of setting priorities."

You will see many calls for the NHS to be supported by a specific tax.  You'll hear people say "I don't mind paying an extra penny in the pound".

This is - dare we say it - rubbish.

And here's why...

OPEN DEMOCRACY

The last thing we need is an NHS tax - say NO!

AFFORDING AN NHS AND PUBLIC SERVICES

Another subject that is part of Modern Monetary Thinking is something called A JOB GUARANTEE. It's not the Universal Basic Income that is being touted by many politicians - all that does is feed an unemployment culture, an unproductive society.

Professor Fadhel Kaboub explains in a April 2018 talk given at City University London.

WHO CREATES THE MONEY IN THE FIRST PLACE?

MONEY CREATED

SIMPLE TUNE - SIMPLE TRUTH - SIMPLE MESSAGE

Thanks to Steven D Grumbine of Real Progressives - a USA website/media network that is fighting hard to see Austerity finished. These articles will make you and friends think about the political propaganda of the age - this goes beyond simple party politics. Neo-liberal Austerity has secreted itself into the lobbies of global politics and politicians are spouting it at every level.

ARTICLES THAT CHALLENGE

We love this. Yes ok it's fun and a little light. BUT... it is truthful.

PRIVATISATION HAS ONLY ONE AGENDA

- PROFITEERS BEING GIVEN CONTROL  of PUBLIC INFRASTRUCTURE

The trouble is now in 2022 - we dont have any real opposition to the Austerity machine.

More of us are beginning to understand it - now we need to challenge all politicians in their promotion of public service sell-offs and disintegration.

Why PHILANTHROPY is such a terrible idea...

Why did we allow corporate thinking to hijack charity?
